Gearing up for 2011...Audition Music is Here!

Well, it's about that time. The weather is starting to turn a little colder here in Michigan, summer vacations are over, and for those who just came off DCI tour you've just gotten to the point where you can sleep in an extra hour or two without feeling like you should already be in your second rehearsal block. But more importantly, fall band season has just started...which means it's time to start thinking about winter drumline. Hopefully we can help.

I'm happy to say that coming into this season we didn't find it necessary to make too many changes. We had an amazing staff in 2010 as was evident by the group's 5th place finish, and we only wanted to make a few small tweaks to the organization to make sure that 2011 was another huge growth year for Redline.

Returning for his 4th year, we're thrilled that Andy Ebert will once again be a part of the core design team for Redline. Andy, as well as many members of the Redline staff have just come off yet another very successful season with the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps. Andy was recently engaged to Kelly Bishop who, while lacking a member jacket, is definitely part of the Redline family.

Perhaps the most significant 'tweak' made to the Redline organization is courtesy of Andrew Markworth. Andrew wrote the pit score for Redline in 2010, but this year is coming back as a full time staff member where he will be responsible for the arrangement and musical design of Redline's entire 2011 show. We're very excited to have Andrew take a larger part in Redline's success, and as is evident by his previous successes in WGI, BOA, and DCI, we expect he will be key in helping Redline take it's next step in WGI.

Michael McKenna will be returning once again to Redline in the 2011 season after taking a year off in 2010. Mike has been with the organization since it's first year and we're thrilled that he can be back with us once again. Mike just came off a great season with the Bluecoats and will undoubtedly add a wealth of experience to the staff.

We'd also like to welcome the newest member of Redline, Ted Leith! Ted has had a long and successful career in the marching arts including numerous achievements and championships. We'll no doubtedly give him a hard time for being the youngest member of the Redline staff, but the exceptional leadership and talent he's shown among his peers makes us very excited that Ted has decided to join our family.

I think it's safe to say that between the staff, the show (which we'll share soon!), and the returning talent this year, I've never been this excited for the start of a season. I simply can't wait for winter...

Oh yeah...and audition music is HERE! !
